Tis’ the season for Ginormous pumpkins, right?!? Well, John Hawkley of Napa, California recently won the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-off. He set a North American record for biggest pumpkin with his giant gored weighing in at 2,058 pounds! Enjoy!
Just in time for Halloween, how about a Pumpkinstein?!? Yes! It’s not a carved, but a pumpkin grown in the shape of Frankenstein’s head. No joke and it’s really cool. Well, it seems that everything has been deep fried! From Oreos to Twinkies! So, why not go ahead and make a deep fried version of Starbucks’ beloved pumpkin spice latte. Well, food blogger Amy Erickson of “Oh, Bite It” came up with the idea. To create the treats, she suggests using store-bought angel food cake or pound cake. Then you basically just soak them in a pumpkin spice latte, fry them and sprinkle them with cinnamon and sugar.
