THANKSGIVING SHOPPING

141 million of us are estimated to have gone shopping over the long Thanksgiving weekend. That's a record, according to the National Retail Federation. However, we bought less, the first time we've done that since 2006. Experts think some may have spent earlier in the month when big discounts were being offered, and the rest of us are just being cautious with our money.

The info from the U.S. Public Interest Research Group says some of the things parents forget to watch out for include MAGNETS on little toys, and tiny parts like eyes on plush toys that can come off and cause choking.

THREE PEOPLE INJURED IN HEAD-ON CRASH ON OHB IN BRENTWOOD
Police say a crash this morning on Old Hickory Blvd in Brentwood may have been caused by a drunk driver. A Chrysler crossed the center line around 3:30 this morning near the intersection of Seven Springs Way, and hit another car head-on.

OBAMAS HONOR LEGACY OF LATE PRESIDENT JOHN F KENNEDY
The President and First Lady took part in services to honor the late President John F. Kennedy, yesterday. The Obamas visited the Kennedy gravesite, then at last night's Medal of Freedom dinner in Washington, DC, President Obama said Kennedy stays with us "not because he left too soon, but because he embodied the character" of the American people.  Tomorrow marks the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination.

MIDWEST TORNADOES
Climatologists are still trying to determine how many tornadoes actually touched down Sunday in the Midwest.  At least 81 were sighted or reported during the onslaught, which killed eight people and injured hundreds more.  Two of the tornadoes that touched down in Illinois were rated EF-4, with winds that reached at least 166 miles-an-hour.
