More than 60,000 people gathered in Johannesburg today for a memorial service to honor late South African President Nelson Mandela. The steady rain didn't stop mourners from singing and dancing in tribute to Mr. Mandela, as speakers praised his role in ending apartheid and healing South Africa's racial divisions. President Obama says the world will never see the likes of Nelson Mandela again.
BETTER LOOKING KIDS GET BETTER GRADES
A new study finds that better-looking high school students get better grades. Researchers who surveyed almost nine-thousand students nationwide say attractive students have a GPA advantage over average-looking students. The study is published in a peer-reviewed book by the Society for Research in Child Development.

WAITTRESS WHO LIED ABOUT GAY SLUR APPARENTLY LIED ABOUT OTHER THINGS
That waittress who lied about getting an anti-gay note instead of a tip from a family she had served has been let go from her restaurant job. Dayna Morales apparently has a reputation for lying. Her former co-workers say she told them she had cancer, then admitted she didn't. And the Marines say although Morales claimed she was an Afghanistan veteran, their records show she was not. Someone commented below the story about all those fibs: saying, "Now I'm questioning if she even exists. Maybe she's a bunch of squirrels standing on each others shoulders in a people suit."

You know how stressed you feel after watching some tragedy on TV? A new study finds watching disturbing images on television may actually cause some people to develop post traumatic stress disorder.
HEALTH: WOMEN MAY BENEFIT FROM VIAGRA
Viagra may also help women. Researchers say the little blue pills used to treat erectile dysfunction in men can help women who suffer from horrendous menstrual pain. (The active ingredient in Viagra dilates blood vessels. The study is published in the journal "Human Reproduction.")
MAN SUES HOSPITAL FOR 'WORKING HIS WIFE TO DEATH'
An Ohio man, who says his wife's work as a hospital nurse led to the car accident that killed her, is suing the Hospital in Cincinnatti where she worked. Jim Jasper says his wife Beth had just worked a 12 hour shift, was stressed and hadn't eaten, when she crashed her car into a tree and died.
The American Nursing Association says the nursing shortage is a nationwide problem, and that one in ten nurses claim they've been in an exhaustion-related car accident. ( To win the lawsuit, though, Jasper will have to prove the it was forseeable that the actions of the hospital would lead to the death of the employee.)

His latest collection of photos called "Trophy Scarves" has him posing with nude or nearly naked white women draped around his shoulders like scarves.
