BATTLE OF FRANKLIN
The restoration of a historic battlefield in Franklin is forcing a few businesses to find new homes. Among them, a pizza place and a family owned tortilla business. In 2012 Civil War preservationists raised $1.8 million to buy the Columbia Avenue building in Franklin. Archaeologists recently unearthed new pieces from the Battle of Franklin which was fought in the parking lot of the complex. Preservationists hope to have the new park ready for a 150 year Battle of Franklin celebration in November.
