WEATHER MAY INCLUDE SLICK ROADS THURS, SNOW

In case you've been busy and not paying a lot of attention, I just want to make sure you heard: we may have some slick spots on the road Thursday morning on the ride in. And although it's a week out, the forecast gives us a chance of some flurries or freezing precipitation by Christmas Eve. That's no promise, but fun to know there's a chance.

MURFREESBORO MOM SAYS SHE STOLE TO PUT CHRISTMAS GIFTS UNDER TREE, HAS LONG CRIMINAL RECORD
40-year-old April Bradley of Rutherford County was arrested Monday, for stealing 700 dollars worth of clothes from the Kohl's in Murfreesboro. She says she did it so she could have Christmas gifts under the tree for her four children. She had her 9 year old with her as she stole the items, and got caught, so the Department of Human Services is investigating.
April Bradley, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department, has been arrested 19 times in the last 20 years, mostly for theft.
 The police report on the latest incident indicates the items she was taking were men’s and women’s clothing. There is no mention of anything for children.

WALMART CEO SAYS SUPERCENTER STORES TOO BIG
You know why some of us don't shop at Walmart more often? They're too big. We're too lazy or tired or busy to walk around in a store the size of four football fields. The big boss at Walmart agrees. He says that's why the company's been building smaller supercenters over the past few years, and adding Neighborhood Markets, and making it easier to shop online.

So far, so good, for the latest round of open enrollment for the Affordable Care program. Nearly three million people have signed up in the past few weeks.

You don't have to enhance your photos before you send them from your phone to Facebook anymore -- they'll do it for you. Facebook has added a new auto-enhance feature that'll let you use a slider to adjust the lighting.

CRAIG WAYNE BOYD WINS SEASON SEVEN OF THE VOICE
The Voice is over, and a Nashville man walked away the winner!
35-year-old Nashville based singer, Craig Wayne Boyd from team Blake, wins the 100-thousand dollars and the recording contract. 

NASHVILLE HOME-FLIPPING SHOW CONSIDERED BY HGTV
We may see more about Nashville on national TV. A local filmmaker is hoping HGTV will pick up his new show called "Nashville Flipped," about renovated Nashville homes and the history behind them. The pilot episode could air on HGTV as early as February, before the network decides on going ahead with a full series.

SOME NASHVILLE-AREA THEATERS WON'T BE SHOWING "THE INTERVIEW"
What you may not be seeing anywhere locally,soon, is the controversial film "The Interview." It's the one that depicts a fictional attempt to assassinate North Korean president Kim Jong-un. The Hollywood Reporter says national chain Carmike Cinemas is pulling the movie from its theaters, after online threats of a September 11th-like attack on theaters that show the film. "The Interview" opens nationwide on Christmas Day.

MAN GIVES LOTTERY WINNINGS TO LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER
Especially this close to Christmas, what would you do if you won 500 dollars with a lottery ticket? This made me feel a little guilty, but inspired. A young man in Dallas won 500 bucks. Without a moment of hesitation, he cashed that thing in and gave it all to his local animal shelter. Loaded up his pickup with pet food and supplies, and said if he'd won a million bucks, he'd have done the same thing.

HOTEL ROBBERIES OVERNIGHT IN NASH AREA
Metro Nashville police are looking for a couple of crooks who robbed as many as three hotels overnight, in Antioch and Smyrna. One guy pulled a gun on people working the desks, and robbed the places, the other suspect drove the getaway car.

JOAN RIVERS' CLINIC PROMISES REFORMS
The New York City clinic where Joan Rivers underwent her last throat exam is promising to reform its practices, including making a no-more-selfie rule. A federal investigation found the former medical director took a photo of Rivers' doctor working on the comedian, even as her vital signs dropped, and she went into a coma.

EBOLA PATIENT/DOCTOR HEADED BACK TO LIBERIA 
This guy is amazing. He's my hero of the day. The doctor who got Ebola in Liberia and survived - Dr Rick Sacra- says he's going back in. His doctors say he's now immune to the virus, which is great, since we don't have a vaccine, yet.

MUSIC CITY BOWL TICKET SALES BRISK
Tickets are selling well for the Music City Bowl, December 30th at LP Field. So far nearly 55 thousand tickets to see the game the Fighting Irish and the Tigers.  That's five-thousand more than the same time last year.

BUSIEST MAILING DAYS
If you have something to mail from the post office, you may wanna do it now. Next MONDAY is expected to be the busiest mailing day of the year, because it's the last day you can send something by regular mail in time for it arrive by Christmas.

THIS YEAR'S FLU SHOT LESS EFFECTIVE BECAUSE VIRUS MUTATED
The CDC says this year's flu vaccine offers less protection than they'd hoped, because the current strain of flu has mutated. It does that. But CDC officials say you should still get it, because .. if you get the flu... the vaccine can make it much less severe. And for people who could die from the flu... that may be enough.
So far, the hospitalizations and deaths from this year's flu have been mostly young children, older people, and some with chronic health issues.
