HOME DEPOT DONATES SLEIGH AFTER GIRLS STOLEN
A special Christmas gift was stolen from a little girl, but a local community stepped in to help. Two years ago, 9-year-old Kayla Woody wished for a Santa sleigh.  When she woke up that Christmas morning, she looked in her yard and saw that St. Nick had delivered it. This past Sunday, however, someone stole the now 11-year-old’s sleigh from her Maury County front yard, while the family was at church.  Workers at the Home Depot in Spring Hill saw the story and decided to help. Joe Forys said they plan to give the store’s Santa sleigh to Kayla. It was the sleigh they use in their Christmas parade.
According to investigators, Kayla’s sleigh was thrown in the Duck River and is probably gone for good.  Authorities said an 18-year-old suspect confessed to the crime and could face theft charges.  Kayla’s father told News 2 if the teen had returned the sleigh, the family might not have pressed charges. However, since he allegedly threw it in the river, things have changed.
