COLD NIGHT FOR TRICK OR TREATING
Happy Halloween! If you're taking your kids out for trick or treating, which about 40% of people say they will be doing, remember that we'll have wind chills in the 30s tonight, so dress warmly and make sure and have a place where the kids can come in and thaw out.

BLUE IS THE NEW ORANGE THIS HALLOWEEN
When you go Trick or Treating, in some neighborhoods, Blue is the new Orange this year. There are a lot of people, very considerate people, taking time to paint oranges TEAL and put them out front, to show that their homes are ALLERGY AWARE, and that they're giving out non-food treats, so kids with food allergies can come there, and Trick or Treat.

MOST-STREAMED SCARY MOVIES
Part of the Halloween fun is scaring yourself with scary movies. Netflix says the most watched scary movie this year is Silence of hte Lambs. Brad Pitt's  zombie movie "World War Z" comes in second.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS THIS WEEKEND
Even though most of our devices now update themselves, and there's not so much setting clocks forward and back... daylight saving time ends this weekend, which means clocks go back an hour overnight Saturday night/Sunday morning.

CHANGE SMOKE ALARM BATTERIES THIS WEEKEND, TOO
You're also supposed to change the batteries in  your smoke alarms. And this is SO important because 2 in 3 fire deaths are in homes with non-working smoke alarms.

TN PROMISE DEADLINE IS SATURDAY
We're nearly out of time for the first group of High school kids who'll take part in the new Tennessee Promise to get signed up. The deadline to register is TOMORROW, at midnight.  It's two years of tuition-free community or technical college to Tennessee high school graduates....  beginning with the Class of 2015.  You can get all the information about it at TNPromise.gov or just google Tennessee Promise. 

SOME FOO FIGHTERS TICKETS TO BE CANCELLED, RESOLD
We're told that more tickets may become available for tonight's Foo Fighters concert at the Ryman Auditorium. Officials say they are working with Ticketmaster to identify any tickets bought by resellers.  Those will be cancelled and made available for the 20-dollar face value. The concert sold out within just a few minutes on Wednesday morning. You'll want to check the www.ticketmaster.com website to see if those tickets are freed up.

EBOLA NURSE BACK HOME IN MAINE
Maine's governor says he'll use all the power he has to keep the nurse who treated an Ebola patient away from other people until 21 days has passed. Kaci Hickox won the right to leave quarantine in New Jersey earlier this week and go to her home in Maine, but then freaked out the Governor there when she  took a bike ride. She was followed the whole way by a police car, because she'd been ordered by the state to stay inside. She's tested negative for the virus, is not showing symptoms, and claims the order is a political move.

PENNSYLVANIA COP KILLER FOUND
Pennsylvania officials say theyll ask for the death penalty for an accused cop killer. Eric Frein (FREEN ) was captured yesterday by U.S. marshals at an abandoned airport.

WALMART STARTS HOLIDAY PRICE CUTS TOMORROW
Walmart seems to be gearing up for a price war this holiday season. The world's biggest retailer says it's cutting prices on 20-thousand products starting tomorrow, and may expand its price-matching policy to include online retailers. 

PLANE CRASH KILLS FOUR IN KANSAS
Four people were killed when a small, twin-engine plane crashed into a building at an airport in Wichita, Kansas yesterday morning. The pilot reported engine trouble just after taking off from the airport. 

LA VERGNE HAS FIRST FEMALE FIREFIGHTERS
The La Vergne Fire Department is welcoming its first female firefighters.  Brittney Barry and Ashley Malone are volunteers for the department, but say they hope to eventually be hired by the city.  Barry says she became a firefighter because she likes to help people.  Malone says she knew she wanted to be firefighter after her house burned down in 2006.

SAN FRAN CELEBRATES WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP
San Francisco is getting ready for more than a million fans at this afternoon's victory parade for the World Series Champion Giants.

HAWAIIAN LAVA FLOW
The lava flow in Hawaii is reportedly no longer moving, but that could change, so officials are still on standby. The lava stalled just short of a main road.

TIME IS MONEY. WE'D PAY FOR A FREE HOUR
For many Americans, time really is money.  A new survey commissioned by Zico Coconut Water finds that 58 percent of people would be willing to pay cash in exchange for one extra hour of time during the day. 

PUTTING UP THE HIGH WIRE FOR WALLENDA
Starting tonight, about 40 workers will begin connecting a 750-foot wire that daredevil Nik Wallenda will use to walk over the Chicago River on Sunday.  After unraveling the spool of steel, the workers will then work overnight to slowly raise the wire and attach it to the buildings being used as anchors.  The entire event will be broadcast live on the Discovery Channel.

Director Peter Jackson turns 53 today. He's known for all the Lord of the Rings Movies that are so...  Hobbit-forming. (sorry. It was just there. Went for it. lol)

FINAL DAY FOR EARLY VOTING
Todays the final day to vote early in Davidson county. If you vote today, you can vote at any polling place in the county, for the State and Federal General Election and the Belle Meade, Forest Hills and Goodlettsville Municipal Elections. Or you can wait till election day, Tuesday, November 4th, but you'll have to vote in your specific neighborhood polling place that's listed on your voter registration card.

OBAMA THANKS EBOLA WORKERS
President Obama is thanking Americans who are risking their lives to fight Ebola in West Africa... including U.S. military troops and healthcare workers... and he's saying the best way to protect US, here in America, from Ebola, is to stop the virus "in its tracks" in West Africa. 

HALLOWEEN WEEKEND BRINGS FIRST FREEZE OF THE SEASON
It's cold today, and it'll be colder this weekend.

SCHOOL SHOOTER INVITED VICTIMS TO SIT AT TABLE WHERE THEY WERE SHOT
Washington state officials say the gunman in last Friday's school shooting set up his victims, and got them all lined up before he started shooting.
The Sheriff says Jaylen Fryberg texted his friends, and two cousins, invited them to come sit with him at the same table at lunch, and that's where they were when he shot them.

SCHOOL SHOOTING
A 14-year-old girl wounded in Friday's shooting at Marysville Pilchuck High School north of Seattle has died. That makes two victims and the shooter, dead, three other kids still in the hospital.

EBOLA RESPONSE TEAM CALLED TO NEW YORK CITY
The newly formed federal Ebola response team gets tested out today in New York City.  Members of the unit are arriving there to treat Dr. Craig Spencer, who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea, and has now tested positive for the disease.
