A nationally-known social worker says you can avoid binge-eating this Thanksgiving. Lisa Ferentz suggests eating when you're hungry and stopping when you're full, even if you have to walk away from platters of food.
Ferentz says people who binge eat are trying to numb or soothe themselves or to find ways to cope. If necessary, Ferentz says you should give yourself permission to avoid family gatherings that you know will set you up to overeat.

They're feeding hundreds of people at the mission this Thanksgiving weekend, and they desperately need turkeys. You can drop it off at the center, or make a monetary donation online, so they can buy what they need.
Donations can be dropped off at the Missions' Donation Center at 616 Seventh Avenue South. The Donation Center is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

In Powell, Tennessee, in Knox county, 33 year old Steven Steelman Jr lost control of his car and crashed yesterday, and a child in the front passenger seat was killed. Another child was taken to the hospital. Steelman was arrested for suspicion of DUI, and charged with vehicular homicide, third offense DUI and driving on a revoked license.
A peeping tom has been arrested in West Nashville, and charged with standing on trash cans to look into windows at a young woman on Thunderbird Drive. A father says he caught 30 year old Sonny Pruitt, looking in at his daughter, after she told him she'd heard a noise outside. Pruitt was caught a little later and charged. The father has called police several times before to report someone trying to look into his daughter's window, but this time he got caught. Sonny Pruitt was charged with invasion of privacy.
And over on the other side of town, East Nashville, a couple hundred people have been without electricity this morning, after a driver apparently fell asleep behind the wheel, slammed her car into a power pole, causing it to fall, and another one to snap. She's okay, but workers have been cleaning up for hours, and are trying to get things back online.
