WINTER STORM HITS NORTHEAST
That deadly winter storm has moved on to the North East coast, where they're expecting up to 20 inches of snow in Maine, freezing rain in Philadelphia, and MORE snow in New York. Some parents there are upset that officials decided to keep the schools open in spite of the weather.

POTHOLE REPAIRS ON I-65 TODAY COULD CAUSE BACK UPS
The winter storm has moved on, but it's left behind a bunch of horribly deep potholes, and some possible traffic delays the next few weeks as TDOT crews do repair work. They say it's too cold to do the work at night, so the crews have to fix the potholes in the middle of the day.
Today (Friday) they'll be working on I-65 near Franklin, so you need to expect delays if you're headed that way. Repairs yesterday backed up traffic for miles.

ARREST MADE IN LEBANON PACKAGE BOMBING.
Investigators have made an arrest in that package explosion that killed two people in Lebanon earlier this week. The suspect is the son-in-law,  49-year-old Richard Parker, who lived near the couple, and who police believe placed a bomb in a package at the couple's house... which later exploded and killed them both: Jon Setzer that day, his wife, Marion, a couple of days later. Though no motive has been announced, investigators say they found a note that may have been attached to the bomb.

MICRO BEADS BAN
Chances are really good that you, and every other woman listening this morning, have some sort of face wash, toothpaste or other personal care product with micro beads. They're teensy tiny plastic beads, that help exfoliate or clean. They've also been found to be horrible for the environment... including causing problems for water treatment systems, and fish and wildlife, and accumulating in and polluting the water. There's a bill being considered in New York to ban the manufacturing, distribution and sale of personal care products with the microbeads, and Procter and Gamble, Unilever, Colgate-Palmolive and Johnson & Johnson have all agreed to start phasing them out.

RALPH WAITE PASSES AWAY
Fans, friends and fellow actors are remembering Ralph Waite today... he died yesterday at his home.
Ralph was known to millions as John Walton Sr. on the 1970s TV series The Waltons – and, more recently, as the Mark Harmon character's father,  "Jack" Gibbs, on the CBS show NCIS. Waite guest starred regular on shows like "The Mississippi," "Murder One," "Carnivale," "The Practice" and "Grey's Anatomy," and all last year had recurring characters on not only "Bones" and "NCIS" but also "Days of Our Lives." TEN YEAR-OLD'S ATTEMPT TO GET OUT OF JOYRIDE TROUBLE
And you may have heard about a ten year old boy who went on a joyride in his parents' car recently.. but what you may have missed, is how creative he got when police caught up with him. The kid tried to convince police, NO, I'm an adult. He said, I"m just short because I'm a Dwarf." Police didn't buy it and took him back to his home. He was apparently wanting to go visit grandma and didn't feel like waiting till his parents could drive him.

COMMITTEE BLOCKS FUNDING FOR AMP
Funding for the city's proposed rapid-bus system is being blocked by the state's Senate Transportation Committee.  Members voted not to use money from the Transportation Budget to help the rapid bus system.... saying TDOT funding should be used for roads and bridges, not on a bus service using one particular lane of traffic.

There's one very stupid biker in Texas. A guy police think may be Alberto Rodriguez, who videoed himself driving down the center lane, between busy lanes of traffic, at speeds of over 100 miles an hour, nearly sideswiping several…. And who posted a message below saying, in part, Catch me if you can."
The police, who are calling the biker a high-priority suspect, have posted clips on their own Facebook site showing him weaving in and out among cars on a busy San Antonio highway. If he's who cops think he is, the biker is already wanted on two felony counts for family violence.

The massive systems breach at Target is being traced back to a malicious email.  Cyber-security blogger Brian Krebs says the hackers likely sent a malware-laced phishing email to a vendor who did business with the retailer.  Thieves were then able to use the stolen vendor credentials to gain access to the credit and debit card information for about 40 million Target customers.
