GAS PRICES FALL BELOW $3/GALLON IN MURFREESBORO
Gas prices are down below 3 dollars a gallon for the first time in two years! A price war at two stations in Murfreesboro has them down to $2.87 a gallon. They're down to about 3.00 a gallon in other areas in and around Nashville.

HOSTESS LIQUIDATING, LAYING OFF AND CLOSING DOWN
Hostess Brands Inc., the maker of  Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread, says it is DONE. Hostess will liquidate the entire company... because not enough striking employees returned to work by yesterday's deadline. Hostess says it can't afford an extended nationwide strike, so it'll lay off most of its 18,000-member workforce and sell their assets to the highest bidders.

NASHVILLE RESCUE MISSION NEEDS 400 TURKEYS BY FRIDAY
The Nashville Rescue Mission still needs donations of turkeys, 12 pounds or more... for its Thanksgiving meal for the Homeless. You can drop the turkeys off at the Mission, on 7th Avenue South, till 7 tonight.

CRACKER JACKED
The makers of Cracker Jack are stepping up, however, with a new Cracker Jack Product. Cracker Jack'd. Some parents are upset about it because it has caffeine in it: the equivalent of two cans of soda. Cracker Jack says it's not targeting children with its new product. 

DAVIDSON COUNTY GUNS FOR GIFT CARDS IS THIS WEEKEND
The GIFT cards for guns program is tomorrow from 8am and noon. You can drop off any gun, even if it's broken, no questions asked, you don't have to give your name, but you will get a 25 dollar gift card to Dollar General. The dropoff is at Tusculum Hills Baptist Church on Nolensville Pike.

BRENTWOOD MAN'S LETTER MENTIONED IN PRESIDENT'S PRESS CONFERENCE
A Brentwood man sent a letter to the White House seeking bi-partisanship unity after the election and his words caught the eye of President Barack Obama.  Steve Wise says, "The man has been elected, I told the President I did not vote for him in the election. But he is the President, he's got a job to do and I support him in getting it done."  The President used part of that letter  in his speech Wednesday.

STAR-STUDDED AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS
Stevie Wonder will salute Dick Clark on Sunday’s American Music Awards, performing a tribute to the media icon, who died in April. 
The AMAs were Clark’s baby, created in 1973 to compete with the Grammy Awards, and Wonder received the Favorite Soul/R&B Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Single award for “Superstition” at the inaugural telecast. Since then, Wonder has won nine AMAs. Ryan Seacrest will also be on hand to introduce the tribute performance.
Sunday’s show is the 40th anniversary of the awards and will also offer performances from Usher, Justin Bieber, No Doubt, Carrie Underwood, Pink, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Clarkson and others.
The telecast kicks off at 8 p.m. on ABC, but first, a pre-show will stream live 5 p.m. 

LOCAL: CONVICTED DRUNK DRIVER ARRESTED AGAIN 
38 year old Danny Ross was convicted of driving drunk and killing three people in 1993: a mother, her son and his teenaged girlfriend. Ross spent 12 years in prison but since his release just keeps on driving drunk. He just got arrested last week for his fourth DUI... He rammed a car on Gallatin road, was staggering drunk and had an open bottle of liquor on the seat beside him. However, when he gets sentenced for this latest dui, the previous one can't be considered... because it's more than ten years old. 

NASHVILLE SEARCHING FOR PERFECT CHRISTMAS TREE
Metro Parks is asking for your help in finding the Nashville Christmas tree for the city's holiday celebration. The city is looking for a 30- to 40-foot Norway Spruce that looks good from all angles. They need it soon, the Mayor's tree lighting ceremony is December 7th. (The Parks' Department will cut it down and plant a replacement for you.) 

POSTAL SERVICE ANNOUNCES RECORD LOSS
How many Christmas cards are you mailing this year?  If you're like MOST of America, not nearly what you used to. Fewer of us using the postal The U.S. Postal Service reported an annual loss of a record $15.9 billion!
