RETAILERS GEAR UP FOR HOLIDAYS BY HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES
It's not even Halloween but many retailers are already hiring for holiday positions. Apparently shoppers are already buying, and retailers are expecting a better sales season this year. (The Nashville West Target has been taking applications since April. )
NASHVILLE TODDLER KILLED IN FALL FROM PICKUP
Unless you've been there, you cannot imagine how hard this must be for the family: a 21 month-old girl has died at a Nashville hospital after being run over by her father's truck. He had stopped to give some neighbor boys a ride, when he says the girl unfastened herself from her car seat and fell out the passenger side door as it opened. He reached for her and accidentally hit the gas, running over her. She passed away at Vanderbilt Children's hospital. The distraught dad was also taken to the hospital for care.

MOBILE MAMMOGRAM UNIT IN LEBANON TOMORROW
Only 4 in 10 women in Tennessee get their recommended mammogram screenings.... and they say it's mainly due to lack of access. They can't get away from work long enough, or don't have transportation. So the Saint Thomas Health mobile mammography unit is headed to Lebanon tomorrow to offer mammograms to women over 40, who haven't had one in a year. They'll be at the Lowe's on South Cumberland, from 10 to 2. They accept insurance, and if you qualify, you can get financial help to pay for the mammogram. STATION CAMP HIGH SCHOOL BENEFIT TONIGHT FOR POLICE OFFICER WITH CANCER
It's high school football season, and lots of people will be loading up the car and heading to Friday night games tonight. The Station Camp High School game against Gallatin will also be a fundraiser for Gallatin police officer Kevin Thomas. He also serves as Station Camp's resource officer, and Thomas was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive types of brain cancer, in May. The kids say they just want to help.
DANCE GANGNAM STYLE
And the Gangnam Style dance craze is sweeping the nation! There are flash mobs, school groups, grandmas, all dancing Gangnam style. Since Korean rapper Psy posted his Gangnam style video in July, it's been viewed 160 million times, and he just signed with Justin Bieber's management. Psy's motto, "Dress classy, dance cheesy." BABYSITTER CHARGED WITH ENDANGERMENT, ABUSE, POT POSSESSION
Rutherford County babysitter, 57 year old Brenda Davis, is facing reckless endangerment and child abuse charges after a 4 year-old boy in her care bit another child more than 20-times. Davis left the boy unattended with a one year old girl ... who had to be taken to the hospital for the bites. Davis also had marijuana plants throughout the house, within reach of the kids she kept. She says she MAINLY used it for medicinal purposes in her hot tea.
MURFREESBORO, TN MOM CHARGED WITH CHILD ABUSE AFTER BABY BORN DRUGGED
A Murfreesboro mother has been charged with child abuse, after her baby girl was born prematurely and with illegal drugs in her system. 21 year old Emily Crum's baby was born seven weeks prematurely and weighed under three pounds. Cops say Crum took prescription pain medicine, smoked marijuana and smoked one to two packs of cigarettes per day while pregnant. Her baby spent a month in the hospital and is now in foster care. The father is wanted on charges in Kentucky.
MUHAMMED ALI GETS LIBERTY MEDAL
Boxing legend and former heavyweight champ Muhammad Ali was honored as a champion of freedom last night in Philadelphia. The National Constitution Center awarded him the Liberty Medal for being outspoken in his fight for religious and civil rights.
MOM TICKETED FOR TWO YEAR-OLD'S IMPROMPTU BATHROOM BREAK
A Philadelphia mom has gotten a ticket and a lecture on parenting for letting her two year old son urinate on a light pole outside a store. She said the store's bathroom wasn't working and her toddler couldn't wait. Caroline Robboy says she'll fight the ticket because she wants to live in a place where her children, "... feel safe and have positive experiences with police officers."

Actor William Shatner is coming to Nashville in January, but tickets go on sale today. You'll want to buy them quickly if you want to attend. It's his one man show SHATNER'S WORLD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT (www.shatnersworld.com). WOMAN SUES EX-BOYFRIEND FOR ATTACK THAT LEFT HER DISFIGURED
A Nashville woman is suing her ex-boyfriend for two-and-a-half million dollars for an assault that left her permanently disfigured. According to police, last year, Whitney Wiser was leaving Dell Computers, where she worked, when Jordan Looper ran her over and dragged her behind his SUV. Police say Wiser had broken up with Looper shortly before the attack.
