PEYTONSVILLE ROAD OVERPASS DESTROYED BY TANKER
If your ride in takes you into the area of I-65 at Peytonsville Road, just keep in mind, there'll be crews there for weeks, replacing the bridge destroyed by a tanker explosion, so there will be delays. The blast happened after 67-year-old Bobby Bobo ran into a support column of the Peytonsville Road overpass and the truck exploded.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COURT BEGINS SEPT. 2ND
Davidson County is changing the way it handles domestic violence cases, with a Domestic Violence Court, including judges, prosecutors and security staff specialized to handle the complex issues involved in domestsic violence. The changes also include an Advocacy Center that opens later this fall.

The U.S. is carrying out more airstrikes in Iraq against ISIS militants. More than a dozen airstrikes on Sunday supported Kurdish and Iraqi forces who launched a ground offensive to retake the Mosul Dam.

4-YEAR-OLD IN CLARKSVILLE DIES AFTER FINDING LOADED HANDGUN
A four-year-old child from Clarksville passed away lasst night, after the child found a loaded handgun and accidentally shot himself in the chest. He died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
FREIGHT TRAIN COLLISION SUNDAY
Two freight trains collided yesterday in northern Arkansas, killing two crew members and forcing more than 500 people out of their homes. The trains were carrying toxic substances. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

MOTHER USES TEXT MESSAGES TO CONVINCE THIEF TO RETURN CAR
Wow! This is unusual. In Missouri, a single mother of five was shopping. And while she was inside the store, someone stole her van. She remembered that her cellphone was in the car and texted the crooks, asking them to PLEASE return the van, that she desperately needed it, and couldn't afford to replace it. The thief did. Texted her detailed directions on where to find it. The crook also left a note: said he was sorry, his own kids needed a meal on the table, and said, 'but it's been so hard since I lost my job.'

SOUTH NASHVILLE TO PLAY IN CONSOLATION GAME TUESDAY
South Nashville is out of the Little League World Series. They lost Saturday to Rhode Island 8-to-7, but will play tomorrow in a consolation game against Vancouver. This was South Nashville's second consecutive trip to the Little League World Series.

Some kids in Iowa are going to have to wear heart monitors this year, in gym class, to make sure they're actually being physically active, and not just sitting around talking like I did with my girlfriends in gym.
