ROBIN ROBERTS DIAGNOSED WITH MDS
"Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts has announced she's been diagnosed with a blood and bone marrow disease, but says she's determined to beat it.  The 51-year-old says she's been diagnosed with MDS or myelodysplastic syndrome. It's a disease of the blood and bone marrow that was once known as preleukemia. Five years ago she beat breast cancer and says she's going to beat this. She'll start chemo today, and get a bone marrow transplant later this year

NASHVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PREPS FOR BUSIEST DAY: MONDAY AFTER CMA FEST
If you're going to the airport, leave early, and be ready for some long lines. Nashville International Airport says the Monday after Bonnaroo and the CMA Music Festival has become the busiest day of the year for them... with nearly 50% more traffic today than a normal Monday.

1 SHOT, ANOTHER INJURED AT COUNTRY STAR'S HOME
There was a shooting at Tom T. Hall's house last night. The singer-songwriter was NOT involved in the shooting... he wasn't even there. Apparently his guests and their guest were writing and playing music, had an argument and someone pulled a handgun. One person was shot in the knee, one man was injured in the fight.

FANS WILL DETERMINE FUTURE OF NASHVILLE RACE TRACK
Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway supporters say the future of the racetrack in Nashville will depend on whether crowds keep turning out for the races. The track reopened in April under new managers, who say more than 10,000 fans attended the opening race in April, nearly 8,000 in May.

MISSING PROSTHETIC LEG WITH UNIV. KENTUCKY LOGO FOUND IN GULF
Imagine you're fishing, you snag something and you reel it in, and it's a LEG! A shrimp boat captain pulled in a prosthetic leg while fishing in the Gulf of Mexico recently, but was able to track it down because it had the University of Kentucky logo and mascot on it. It belonged to a former University of Kentucky running back from the 1980s... who'd lost his 30-thousand dollar prosthetic leg while swimming over Memorial day weekend. He says he owes the fisherman a HUGE debt of thanks.

HEALTH EXPERTS WARN OF HEAT EXHAUSTION 
Local health officials are reminding you that you HAVE to take extra steps to prevent heat health issues this time of year. They recommend you take frequent breaks to cool down when you're outside, and drink at least two glasses of water an hour. They had to treat close to 700 people for heat related issues just this weekend at the CMA Music Festival.

WOMAN DIES AVOIDING DEER/NOT WEARING SEATBELT
A Tennessee woman killed in a crash in southern Kentucky was trying to avoid a deer carcass on the road. 36 year-old Julie  Roberts, of Clarksville, wasn't wearing her seatbelt, so when she swerved to avoid the deer on the highway she was thrown from the vehicle and killed. Her passenger, also not belted in, has non-life-threatening injuries. (The crash happened around 10:50 p.m. Saturday night on U.S. Highway 79 in Todd County)

SPRING HILL CONSIDERS SMOKING BAN IN PARKS
Spring Hill officials are considering a ban on tobacco use in public parks there. If it's passed, it'll be a minor offense, that would cost you about 140 dollars for a violation. And, if the ban passes, other nearby cities, including Franklin, could make smoking in parks a finable offense as well.

BONNAROO BRINGS TOURISTS BUT MAY HURT MANCHESTER
The Manchester mayor says although Bonnaroo brings in 80-thousand people for the Music and Arts Festival each year... it does NOT actually bring the CITY of Manchester the economic boom one would expect. He says the festival attendees stay on site, and the locals don't come out of their homes, so many businesses in town could just as well close for the week.

MCCONAGHEY MARRIES
And actor Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend of six years -- Camila Alves -- got married in Austin, Texas Saturday... with about 100 friends and family members in attendance.

3-YEAR-OLD FALLS IN POOL, REVIVED BY MOTHER
A Maury county mother had the scare of a lifetime this weekend, when her three year old fell into the swimming pool and she found him, not breathing. She was able to perform CPR, and the child came to, and was speaking ... as he was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

PEDESTRIAN IN HIT AND RUN IN CRITICAL CONDITION 
Local police are looking for the driver who hit a pedestrian Saturday night in Madison, then drove away. The victim is in critical condition, the suspect left in a white Chevy Impala with one headlight out and a bumper that was dragging on the road. 

POLICE WANT YOUR HELP TO CATCH A THIEF
Police are also hoping you may be able to help them idenfity a man who robbed a North Nashville Walgreen's yesterday morning. You can see the surveillance photos on the mix929.com NEWS page. The guy walked into the store, showed a handgun to the pharmacy clerk, and stole more than a hundred Xanax. 

LOHAN IN WRECK
Lindsay Lohan rear-ended an 18-wheeler this weekend in her rented Porche. But first said the truck cut her off, then claimed her brakes failed. The truck driver says, Lindsay had been FLYING down the highway and slammed into him.
He also claims she tried to bribe him, and she and her people packed a bag with something from the car and told him not to mention the bag to the cops. Police are investigating but say neither driver was believed to be under the influence.
