PEYTON MANNING LEAVES NASHVILLE AFTER SIX-HOUR MEETING

Free agent quarterback Peyton Manning has met with the Titans. He left Baptist Sports Park around nine last night after meeting with team officials for over six hours. No word on the outcome of the meetings, but FoxSports reports that it's down to The Titans or Denver. Other sources say he's narrowed the choices down to four possible teams he may go with: Denver, Tennessee, Miami and possibly Arizona. The 35-year-old Manning was released by the Indianapolis Colts last week after he missed all of last season following neck fusion surgery.

HEALTH: WOMEN WHO EAT CADMIUM HAVE GREATER RISK FOR BREAST CANCER
Women who eat foods with high levels of cadmium appear to be at greater risk for breast cancer. Cadmium is an industrial chemical that's found most often in potatoes and other root veggies, whole grains and shellfish.
A new study of nearly 56-thousand post-menopausal women finds those who consumed the most cadmium were 21-percent more likely to develop the disease.

What do YOU think of this? A Princeton University professor says airlines should charge for tickets based on how much a passenger weighs. He says you already pay extra for oversized bags, so it's only fair to pay more .... if you use more fuel and resources. Some airlines already require obese passengers to buy more than one seat.

SENATE PANEL LOOKS AT NUCLEAR SAFETY
A Senate panel is looking at nuclear reactor safety in the U.S. to make sure something similar to the Japanese nuclear disaster a year ago doesn't happen here.

MAN STEALS PIZZA COSTUME FROM PAPA JOHN'S
A Florida man stole a pizza costume that looks like a giant slice of Pizza from a Papa John's restaurant this weekend. Police are on the lookout for the man in the costume, and the suspect is described as "delicious-looking."

FEDS INVESTIGATING FORD TAURUS ISSUE
The federal government is investigating older model Ford Tauruses after reports of unwanted acceleration. So far they're looking at 2005 and 2006 models. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received over a dozen complaints of stuck accelerators. The drivers involved claim they had to shift into park or neutral to stop the cars. That's after stepping on the brake. Federal investigators are examining cruise control cables in 2005 and 2006 model Tauruses. The investigation could involve about 300-thousand vehicles. Ford Motor Company officials say they're cooperating with the government.

CDC ANTI SMOKING CAMPAIGN
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is launching a graphic new anti-smoking ad campaign today, spending millions of dollars to feature stories and photographs from ex-smokers who've had heart attacks, lung removal, limb amputation or stroke-related paralysis.

WASHINGTON MONUMENT SINKING
It appears the land under the National Mall near the Washington Monument is sinking, possibly because of the big earthquake last August.

HORSE DEATH PROMPTS CANCELLATION OF HBO's "LUCK"
HBO cable network has cancelled production of its series "Luck" after an injured horse had to be euthanized on the set this week. It was the third horse death connected with the series, so HBO pulled the plug on the show. "Luck" was to have starred Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte.

CBS has approved new episodes for 18 of its shows, but "Two and a Half Men" was not on the renewal list...

ARMY SGT TRANSFERRED
The Army sergeant who allegedly killed 16 Afghan civilians has been flown from Afghanistan and is being detained at a U.S. detention facility in Kuwait. Officials say Kuwait has better American military and legal infrastructure to hold and prosecute the man.)

HEALTH: CALL FOR BAN ON ALL-METAL ARTIFICIAL HIPS
And some researchers are calling for a ban on all-metal artificial hips, because they've been found likely to fail and have to be replaced within five years. No word on other artificial joints, such as knee replacements. (The study appears in the journal "The Lancet.")

AFGHAN MAN TARGETS DEFENSE SECRETARY IN ATTACK
An Afghan civilian believed to have been targeting Defense Secretary Leon Panetta when he drove onto a military airfield where Panetta's plane was landing has now died. The suspect's truck burst through a security perimeter and managed to get onto the runway before it caught fire and crashed in a ditch. Officials say he succumbed to severe burns early today. Panetta was not hurt in yesterday's attempted attack.

MAN TRIES TO USE DEBIT CARD HE STOLE FROM CLERK'S MOM
An alleged thief in Pennsylvania finds himself behind bars this week after he reportedly tried to buy gas with a stolen debit card he took from the clerk's mother. According to ABC27.com, Joshua Devonshire ran away as soon as the Turkey Hill store employee recognized her mom's name on the card, but he didn't get far. Police say the clerk knew Devonshire by name because they go to the same school. She reported the crime and then called her mother, who said she saw Devonshire taking off in an unknown car and noticed several bank cards missing from her own vehicle. Police eventually caught up with Devonshire, who admitted to the crimes and was sent to Lancaster County Prison on three-thousand dollars bail.

BILL WOULD CUT PAY FOR LAWMAKERS FOR MISSING BUDGET DEADLINE
A bill introduced by Democrat Representative Jim Cooper to deny pay to legislators when they fail to pass a budget is gaining momentum. The law would cut off their pay if they miss the October 1st deadline to approve a budget, including all spending bills to finance government agencies, and would not be retroactive. Tennessee Republican Representatives Diane Black and Scott DesJarlais join the 34 co-sponsors of the bill in the House.

TENNESSEANS' CREDIT SCORE JUST BELOW NATIONAL AVERAGE
Tennessee consumers are hitting just about average in their credit scores. That's according to a new report from CreditKarma.com. Tennessee has an average credit score of 644, slightly below the national average of 659. Its average credit card debt is about 5,540-dollars compared to the national average of about 61-hundred.

NEW REALITY SHOW STARRING EASTWOOD FAMILY
There's a new reality TV show coming soon. The E! network which has several Kardashian family reality shows, says it'll air "Mrs. Eastwood & Company" a show revolving around the family of Hollywood veteran Clint Eastwood. Clint, himself, is NOT expected to be a major player in the series but his wife and their teenaged daughters are.
