Less than a year after she announced she has early onset dementia-Alzheimer's type, Pat Summitt has stepped down as the head coach of the Lady Vols. Summitt will continue to act as a mentor to players as “coach emeritus”. Long time assistant Holly Warlick will take over as the new head coach.
The man best known for hosting TV's "American Bandstand" and "New Year's Rockin' Eve, Dick Clark, has died. He was 82. Clark suffered a "massive" heart attack yesterday. "American Idol" paid tribute to the legendary broadcaster last night. Host Ryan Seacrest gave Clark credit for allowing shows like "Idol" to have a place on TV.
The Nashville Predators are warning fans of phony playoff tickets. The team will be back in Nashville Friday to play Game Five of the first-round playoffs. A spokesman for the Predators and Bridgestone arena says the only way to protect yourself from buying a counterfeit ticket is to buy through the arena box office.

Holly Warlick, an assistant on the Tennessee staff for 27 seasons, has been named Summitt's successor and will assume head coaching duties for the Tennessee women's basketball program. Summitt will now be head coach emeritus serving as a mentor to the players. Summitt is the all-time wins leader among NCAA basketball coaches with 1,098 victories at Tennessee in 38 seasons.
The Preds big playoff game against Detroit tomorrow night, but there’s also something else big tomorrow: Parts of I-24 will be CLOSED for those bridge repairs they’ve been planning for months now. TDOT says going TO the game you’ll be fine but going HOME, you need to remember you CANNOT take I-24 out of downtown. You’ll need to use I-40 or another alternate.

The man and woman have taken electronics from four different stores over the past two months. They were seen fleeing one of the stores in a green Dodge Ram pickup with custom wheels and fog lights. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Nashville author and book store owner Ann Patchett has been named to "Time" magazine's 100 List of Most Influential People In The World. Patchett will be honored at the Time 100 gala on April 24th. Other notables on the list include Senator Marco Rubio, Justice Anthony Kennedy and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow.
