WORLD LEADERS CONSIDER MILITARY ACTION AGAINST SYRIA
World leaders are considering military action against Syria, a day after an alleged chemical weapons attack by the government killed hundreds of people near Damascus.  France's foreign minister says if the attack is confirmed, the appropriate international response would be the use of force.

SAN DIEGO MAYOR BOB FILNER LEAVING OFFICE?
San Diego Mayor Bob Filner was reportedly spotted leaving City Hall last night with boxes, leaving some people hoping that means he's cleaning out his stuff and ready to resign from office. (Filner is accused of sexually harrassing 17 women)

 

LP FIELD HOSTING VETERAN JOB FAIR
Once you've served in the military, you have a unique set of skills that could translate to a great civilian job. There are about 30 employers who'll be at LP Field today looking to hire veterans and their spouses.. The Veterans' Job Fair is 11 to 3 today.

HANNAH ANDERSON SPEAKS ABOUT LETTERS SHE WROTE TO KIDNAPPER JAMES DIMAGGIO
California kidnapping victim Hannah Anderson says letters she wrote to the man who kidnapped her, James DiMaggio... which were found in his burned out house by investigators.... were sent to him when she wasn't getting along with her mother. DiMaggio is suspected of killing Hannah's mother and brother then setting the house on fire, and kidnapping the teenager. 

MANUEL OPENS LOWER-END CLOTHING STORE ON BROADWAY
Here's something fun!  World-famous fashion designer Manuel is doing something cool for us LITTLE people... lol. Usually his outfits cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. But, Manuel is launching a new clothing line that's supposed to be more affordable for the general public. PROTESTERS ASK FOR PARDON
Dozens of protesters gathered in front of the White House yesterday, asking President Obama to pardon Private Bradley Manning. He was sentenced yesterday to 35 years in prison for releasing 700-thousand classified military documents to the anti-secrecy site WikiLeaks.  

DR. PHIL'S CONTROVERSIAL TWEET ABOUT DRUNK SEX
Dr. Phil McGraw is catching some heat over a tweet his people made about sex and drinking. He's putting together a show on the topic and on his Twitter account, a question was sent out, asking, "If a girl is drunk, is it OK to have sex with her? Reply yes or no to @drphil. Instead of just saying, "No," some Twitter users expressed anger at McGraw for -- in their words -- suggesting it might be okay to have sex with someone without consent. They're angry, though clearly many young people do think it's okay.

FORMER VANDERBILT PLAYERS PLEAD NOT GUILTY
The four former Vanderbilt football players accused of rape have pleaded not guilty. Their attorneys entered the pleas for them in court yesterday. The men are charged with raping an unconscious female student in a dorm room on June 23rd.

MAYOR PUSHING FOR NEW SOUNDS STADIUM
The Nashville Sounds may be getting a new stadium.  Mayor Karl Dean says the proposal a "work in progress" and said a new stadium needs to be a public-private partnership that makes sense for the taxpayers.

SPRAYABLE ENERGY?
A couple of Harvard grads are working on what might be the next big thing: sprayable energy: caffeine in a spritzer. They're still online trying to raise money right now, so it'll be awhile before it's out.

MORE 'FORMER-TV' SHOWS MOVING ONLINE?GOOGLE IN TALKS WITH NFL
Will there come a day when you and the guys gather round the TV to watch football, streamed online? Internet giant Google thinks, sure. They've been talking with the NFL Commissioner about the league's Sunday Ticket Package, that lets you watch nearly every NFL game on any given Sunday. DirecTv's ownership of the package deal ends after the 2014 season. (Word is that Google could be looking into making the buy, PROBABLY to stream the games online.) 

DOLLY PLANS TO EXPAND DOLLYWOOD
You know with singer Dolly Parton that bigger is better:  big hair, big theme park. And now, Dolly says she's making Dollywood bigger! First, a new FireChaser Express rollercoaster, that'll open next year, and then, in the next ten years, a major expansion that will inclide a Dollywood Resort and hotel. The expansion will add hundreds of jobs and hundreds of thousands of dollars to Tennessee's economy. 

DAVID CASSIDY ARRESTED FOR DWI. AGAIN.
Former 70s teen idol David Cassidy has been arrested in New York. The 63-year-old former "Partridge Family" star was busted at a sobriety checkpoint, and charged with FELONY DWI, because this was not his first. Back in 2010 he was arrested for DUI in Florida. (The '70s star's stepmother, singer Shirley Jones, recently said Cassidy is "a troubled man who has demons he's been struggling to conquer."

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL KICKOFF IN TENNESSEE TONIGHT
The 2013 High School Football Season officially starts tonight, with a handful of games across the state. Have you seen some of the spreads at those games? Some people bring so much food it's just a feast! Just know that extra traffic will be out there tonight, if you're getting out.

VANDY PROJECT IN COOL SPRINGS DELAYED
A massive medical complex planned in Cool Springs is being delayed.  Officials with Vanderbilt University Medical Center say the project is still a top priority, but construction plans are being reassessed based on available funds and strategic needs.  Vanderbilt is in the process of trying to reduce its budget by 250-million-dollars over the next two fiscal years. 

HEALTH: 83% OF US DON'T SLEEP WELL ON A REGULAR BASIS
If you toss and turn and just don't sleep well, you're in the majority. 83 percent of American adults say they sleep poorly .... on a regular basis. Most of us say it's stress and anxiety that keeps us awake. Then, the inability to turn off our thoughts, pain, spouses and pets, noise. BUT… SURPRISINGLY no one said they just can't stop binge-watching "Breaking Bad!" You KNOW that's happening. Why does no one ever admit, "I was on Facebook till 11:30?"  Come on! Somebody? Lol.
