NISSAN BATTERY PLANT COULD BRING 1,000 JOBS TO SMYRNA
As demand grows for the all-electric Nissan Leaf, so does demand for batteries for the car. So Nissan says it's building a new battery plant in Smyrna next to the Nissan vehicle assembly plant that's already there. They're expecting to hire as many as 1,000 new workers for the plant over the next few years. GORDON RAMSAY'S "KITCHEN NIGHTMARES" COMES TO CHAPPY'S IN NASHVILLE, YOU CAN BE A DINER ON THE SHOW

And "America's Got Talent" is holding auditions today in Nashville. Producers will be at the Nashville convention center from 10 till 8, but you do need to register online first. And if you can't make the audition live, you can send in an audition video.

If we have clear skies tonight, you can slip outside and see the Geminid meteor shower. It's at its peak between 10 tonight and 3 in the morning. The Geminid shower is one of the two biggest of the year. (Look toward the constellation Gemini, in the eastern part of the sky for the best view.)

ANGEL TREE ADOPT-A-THON TONIGHT, (THURSDAY, DEC 13)
The Salvation Army still has about 2400 Angels who haven't been adopted from the Angel Trees: babies, little kids and elderly people who will go without this Christmas if someone doesn't step in and help. The Salvation Army's last-ditch effort to get everyone taken care of is an Angel Tree Telethon tonight on NewsChannel 4. They're asking you to call in between 4 and 10:30 tonight to make a donation, or to drop off new toys and coats at the Angel Tree Warehouse, 3710 Vulcan Drive.. through this Saturday. Angel Tree gifts will be handed out to families next Monday through Thursday.

JUSTIN BIEBER MURDER PLOT
A convicted rapist and killer... locked up in New Mexico... plotted to have Justin Bieber murdered and castrated ... but for some reason, he changed his mind and told police about it... so they were able to catch up with the hired hitmen, and stop them. The hitmen allegedly were already armed with murder weapons. The convict who made the hire is a 45 year-old man, so obsessed with Bieber that he has a tattoo of the singer on his leg.

Today is a big day for Swifties! It's Taylor Swift's 23rd birthday.... AND she releases her 23rd music video for the song, "I Knew You Were Trouble"

She's dating Harry Styles of the boy group "One Direction," and she's booked to perform live on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on December 31st.
