There are a couple of schools opening late today... CLARKSVILLE/MONTGOMERY County and Robertson County Schools both opening an hour late.. Dickson County two hours late. If you have any questions about yours, you can check the closings under the NEWS tab, at mix929.com
WINTER OLYMPICS SAFETY WARNING ABOUT TOOTHPASTE BOMBS
As Winter Olympics competition begins, U.S. officials are warning airlines flying into Russia to be alert about toothpaste tubes which could hold ingredients for making bombs. Russia is in a state of high alert for terrorist activity, as the men's snowboarding slopestyle kicked off the games early this morning.
PRESIDENT'S NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST
No doubt Sochi will be on leaders' minds as President Obama and members of Congress meet with business and community leaders this morning for the annual National Prayer Breakfast.
NEW ROUTE UNVEILED FOR COUNTRY MUSIC MARATHON
Organizers of the St. Jude Country Music Marathon have announced a new route for the run this year. It'll start downtown, on Lower Broadway instead of at Centennial Park, and will be more of a loop around the city. We're expecting more than 30-thousand people are expected to participate in this year's race in April.
POLICE IMPERSONATOR ROBBING PEOPLE IN MAURY COUNTY
Please be careful if you're headed through Maury county. There's a police impersonator who's been pulling over drivers and robbing them.
The real police say the crooks -- apparently two men -- are in a yellow Camaro, using a blue light on the dashboard, to pull people over, then take their money. It's happened twice in the past few days in the area of Highway 43 and Old Lawrenceburg Highway in Maury County.
POTHOLE ON I-65 CAUSES BLOWN TIRES
And be careful whatever route you're taking today. The rain and all the freezes and thaws we've had, is tearing up the roads. There were big traffic delays yesterday morning when two people hit a huge pothole near the I-65/I-24 interchange... near the ramp, and blew out their tires. There were no injuries, just some expensive damage for at least two drivers' cars.

ROADS CLOSED IN MT. JULIET AFTER ICY PATCHES CAUSE CRASHES
We've had some icy patches on the roads, causing some problems overnight and again this morning. There were two rollover crashes from the ice in Mt. Juliet last night... no serious injuries.
FATAL CRASHES INVOLVING POT INCREASING
As more states legalize marijuana, researchers from Columbia University say we're headed for trouble on the roads. Fatal crashes involving pot have already tripled during the past ten years, and the new study suggests that in five or six years, marijuana will overtake alcohol to be the most common substance involved in traffic deaths from impaired driving.
TN. JUDGE FIRED FOR ORDERING NAME CHANGE OF BABY MESSIAH
An east Tennessee judge who ordered a baby's name changed from Messiah to Martin has been fired. Last August, Child Support Magistrate Lu Ann Ballew of Cocke County in east Tennessee ordered a boy's first name changed, saying the name Messiah was to be reserved as a title for Jesus Christ. That was illegal and she's been let go.
SLEEPWALKER SCULPTURE SCARES STUDENTS ON MASS. CAMPUS
A VERY lifelike sculpture of a sleepwalker is causing an uproar on the campus of a Massachusetts college. The sculpture looks like a real man, dressed only in his underwear, just standing there, sound asleep... out in the snow and the cold. More than 300 students have signed a petition saying it scared them thinking a real man was out there in trouble, and asking for it to be removed. The college president says it's part of a new art exhibition meant to trigger 'unexpected new ideas,' in his students.

Don't forget to lay out your red tonight. Tomorrow is Wear Red Day, to raise awareness about heart disease, which is still the number one killer of men and women.
LIPSCOMB "SIGNS" 5-YEAR-OLD ON NATIONAL SIGNING DAY
Something really cool happened yesterday. A little five year old boy was "signed" to a local team, on national signing day.
Brooks Russell was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2012 and has had a lot of health issues since then, but he loves to play baseball. So, yesterday, Lipscomb University held a special signing day ceremony for the little boy, letting him print his name on papers saying he's on the Bison's team. The little boy was thrilled. The coach says he hopes to see the little boy do well and maybe he can, someday, play at Lipscomb.
LENO AND FALLON
Jay Leno's last "Tonight Show" is tonight. Earlier this week, Jimmy Fallon, who'll be Leno's replacement on the show, came on the show with Jay and did his "Thank you" note gag, to address the changeover.

BELLEVUE YMCA TO REOPEN TODAY
The Bellevue YMCA is expected to reopen today, after that plane crash earlier this week right beside the building, that killed four people from Kansas.
AMERICAN GIRL STORE COMING TO COOLSPRINGS GALLERIA
There are little girls who are about to go NUTS when they hear about this: there's an American Girl Store coming to CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin. It'll open next year and will include a hair salon for dollies, a boutique where they can design their own doll-sized t-shirts, and a 25-seat bistro for meals or dolly birthday celebrations.
COMPLIMENT DAY ...
Today is Compliment day. Studies find if you notice something positive about someone, and compliment them on it in the morning, they get an emotional lift that lasts the rest of the day. Plus, it makes you feel good.
ACTOR TOM SIZEMORE SAYS VIDEO OF HIM ALLEGING CLINTON AFFAIR WAS DRUG-INDUCED NONSENSE
Tom Sizemore says the explosive recording in which he alleges a year-long affair between President Bill Clinton and Elizabeth Hurley is "the rantings of a guy that...had a very severe drug problem." Sizemore admitted that it was his voice, but says he didn't remember saying it, that he never even met Bill Clinton and apologized to the Clinton family, saying he hoped it wouldn't affect the Clintons, politically. "It's just ludicrous that the ravings of a drug-addicted actor would have any impact on who might be the President of the United States," he said.

OUT OF CONTROL JEEP NARROWLY MISSES SCHOOL FULL OF KIDS IN COLUMBIA
A Jeep Cherokee narrowly missed crashing into a school building full of children Wednesday afternoon in Columbia. Officials on the scene told News 2 the driver of the Jeep lost control on Old Zion Road in front of Zion Christian Academy around 1:40 p.m. The vehicle left the roadway, ramped over a small creek and struck some guy wires on a utility pole before striking the tree. There were 36 students and some faculty members in the school at the time, but the only one hurt was the jeep driver.
