100 SOLDIERS TO RETURN TO NASHVILLE AFTER YEAR LONG DEPLOYMENT
One hundred Nashville-based soldiers come home tomorrow after being deployed for a year. Members of the Tennessee National Guard's 230th Signal Company have been stationed in Afghanistan since last July. If you wanna be there to welcome them back, the soldiers will arrive in Smyrna's National Guard volunteer training site tomorrow afternoon.

DONORS TO RECEIVE DOZEN ROSES AT BLOOD DRIVE THURSDAY
The Red Cross has issued urgent pleas for blood donations, and local businesses are coming through with incentives. If you donate blood today at the Red Cross mobile unit at Rebel Hill Florist on Trousdale Avenue... Rebel Hill will give you a dozen roses. METRO SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE: WHERE TO DONATE
If you're doing some back to school shopping in the next couple of weeks, Metro Schools is asking you to buy extra, and donate to its school supplies drive if you can. You can drop them off at any Nashville Public Library, Metro police station, Nashville Fire Department or Metro community center. 

POLICE WARN ABOUT JURY DUTY SCAM
There are so many scams going on... all the time.. that it's hard to keep up with them... but here's the latest. Police say you get a text message saying you didn't show up for jury duty, and you need to pay a fine or go to jail. IF you call, the crooks ask for personal information or ask for money. It does NOT work that way. Just remember: Court clerks still use snail mail to contact you if you're up for jury duty. 

CDC ISSUES WARNING ABOUT GRILL BRUSH BRISTLES
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have issued a warning about GRILL BRUSH bristles. The metal bristles can break off and get lodged in food. You can eat one without even knowing it, and they can cause serious problems. Jerry Jones, with Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Life Flight program, nearly died from eating one during a cruise.The CDC recommends you have your grillmaster be EXTRA sure the grill is bristle-free after cleaning it.

KITCHEN GERMS: WHICH SPOTS TOP THE LIST?
The latest study is out on the most germ-infested places in your kitchen. As you'd expect, number one is the sponge or dish cloth. you're supposed to zap them in the microwave occasionally to kill germs. But number two was the SINK. There's often more E. coli in your sink than in your toilet after you flush it. (Another germy place you may overlook is the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. KRISTIN CHENOWETH INJURED ON SET OF 'THE GOOD WIFE'
Singer, actress Kristin Chenoweth was rushed to a hospital after she was injured on the Brooklyn set of "The Good Wife" yesterday. Apparently she was knocked cold by a falling piece of lighting equipment and fell to the ground.

NASHVILLE MAN CHARGED $84,000 FOR $30 GAS
A Nashville man thought he was getting a deal buying the cheapest gas around... at a Mapco station in Donelson last week. But even though the pump showed he paid 30 dollars for the fillup... he found out later when his debit card was declined.. that his bank, Citibank, had sent Mapco more 84 THOUSAND dollars for the transaction. Mapco said they never got the money and the bank locked him out of the cash he did have in his account, till the 84 thousand shows up.

BONNAROO REPRIMANDED FOR RAIN WATER DUMPING
The state department of Environment and Conservation has issued a verbal warning to Bonnaroo organizers for piping runoff rainwater onto someone else's private property during Bonnaroo. The neighbors say it was so smelly and foul it smelled like sewage.

IllINOIS MOM DUMPS DISABLED DAUGHTER IN TENNESSEE
An Illinois woman says she just couldn't care for her 19-year-old daughter  -- so disabled by Cerebral Palsy that she can't speak -- so she brought the girl here to Tennessee and left her at a bar. The girl is now in state custody.
