AIR ALERT ISSUED FOR THURSDAY
There's an Air Quality Alert again today for a dangerous amount of ground-level Ozone in the air. People with lung disease should stay indoors as much as possible, children-- who breathe faster and inhale more toxins on bad air days-- should stay in as much as possible, and everyone is supposed to hold off on any strenuous outdoor activity that would make them inhale more toxins
JOB FAIR TODAY IN SPRING HILL
There's a job fair today in Spring Hill. More than 30 employers are scheduled to be there, taking resumes and talking to potential employees. The job fair will be at the Northfield Workforce Development and Conference Center from 10 to 2. (Attendees should bring an updated resume and dress professionally.)
REMEMBERING MUSIC INDUSTRY LEGEND FRANCES PRESTON
Many people in the music industry in Nashville are remembering the life of Frances Preston who passed away yesterday of congestive heart failure. The Nashville native was reportedly the first woman corporate executive in Tennessee, heading Nashville's annual DJ Conventions -- which evolved into the CMA Music Festival -- and serving as President and CEO of BMI (a company that makes sure writers get their royalties when their songs are played). METRO COUNCILMAN CREATING ALTERNATIVE BUDGET RESOLUTION
Metro Councilman Sean McGuire says he's creating an alternative budget resolution to the Mayor's proposed 53-cent property tax hike, though he says his plan will also include a tax increase. The council votes for a third time on the Mayor's budget next Tuesday.
AMERICAN IDOL WINNER HEALING AFTER SURGERY
American Idol winner Phillip Phillips is recovering after surgery to address his serious kidney problems. The 21 year old says he'll be ready to go when the Idols Live tour starts July 6th in Detroit.
DARTH VADER KID HAS SURGERY
May the force be with little Max Page, the boy who was dressed as Darth Vader in Volkswagen's Super Bowl TV commercial... The 7 year-old is having open heart surgery today in Los Angeles. He was born with a heart defect.
MYSTERY TEEN IN GERMANY
German police have released a photograph of the 17-year-old 'mystery teen' ... who claims he lived in the woods for five years with his dad... and then when his dad died, he buried him, and walked into the city. The boy knows only that his name is Ray, he speaks English and a little German.... and investigators have released the photo to see if someone recognizes him.
BLOOD DONOR DAY: RED CROSS IN NEED
Today is World Blood Donor Day. You're encouraged to give blood today, or as soon as you can, at the Red Cross Center, 22nd and Charlotte. Blood donations are down this year, and the Red Cross says it especially needs donors with types O negative, O positive, B negative and A negative blood.
STUDY: SEAWEED SUPPLEMENT COULD HELP IN WEIGHT LOSS

SUICIDE SECOND LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH FOR MILITARY MEMBERS
Suicide is now the second most common cause of death among U.S. military members, and the LEADING cause of death among female military members. A new analysis released yesterday by the Pentagon says more servicemembers die from suicide than any other cause outside of combat. (Suicide accounted for one in four non-combat related deaths in the military last year.)

Today is Flag Day. A Wisconsin school teacher came up with the idea of setting aside a day to celebrate the American Flag, and the idea spread.
SANDUSKY TRIAL CONTINUES TODAY
More testimony is on tap today in the sex abuse trial of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. Yesterday, the court heard from the father of Penn State assistant football coach Mike McQueary. John McQueary confirmed earlier testimony, saying his son told him about walking in on Sandusky assaulting a boy in the school's locker room showers.
MEN WANT GIFT CARDS FOR FATHER'S DAY
Father's Day is Sunday. A new survey shows gift cards are the number-one present dads want. Dads also say they want tech-oriented gifts.
