NES WARNS CUSTOMERS ABOUT PHONE SCAM
Let's start with the latest scam that's going around, even though YOU may not fall for it, please remember the older people in your life who might, and pass this along if you can. Nashville Electric Service says thieves are calling customers, telling them their NES payment hasn't been received, and threatening to cut off the customer's electricity if they don't use a credit card and make a payment over the phone. You guessed it: some people are falling for it. NES says it will NEVER ask for payment information over the phone. If someone contacts you and asks you to do such nonsense, NES wants you to call them.

They also remind you that NES employees always carry proper identification and never call or go door-to-door to request personal information such as bank account numbers. If you have doubts about the legitimacy of a request, contact NES at 736-6900.
NASHVILLE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRIES HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING WORKERS
If you really want a job, it really looks like you could get one. We have so many new restaurants and hotels in Nashville, that managers say they can't find enough quality employees. There are openings right now for culinary and housekeeping staffers, and some of the businesses say they considering applicants without hospitality experience to meet the demand.

And there's a job fair in Williamson County today (Thursday), 10 to 2, at the Factory in Franklin. Dozens of employers looking for workers. If you go, dress professionally, take your resume' and be ready for an interview.

Tonight is the first official freeze of the season, tomorrow night the first hard freeze. BRITISH COMPANY CREATES REFLECTIVE JACKET FOR CHICKENS
Oh, and don't forget to put coats on the chickens! lol. Yes. So many families have chickens as PETS that there's actually a market for this: chicken jackets. They're insulated, and made from reflective material to keep chickens safe when they cross the road! You can get a chicken jacket for about 20 clucks. I mean bucks.

Three of them, part of a domestic herd, got loose from Greenview Circle between Franklin and Thompson's Station. 11-YEAR-OLD FACES ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES
A Washington state middle school boy was arrested Wednesday and faces an attempted murder charge, after he brought 400 rounds of ammunition, multiple knives and a handgun to his school, police said. The 11-year-old was booked into a juvenile detention facility after the incident that caused the lockdown of Frontier Middle School, Vancouver Police said. The school, in Vancouver, Washington, was locked down for about two hours. Parents received letters alerting them of the situation, said Kris Fay, a spokeswoman for the Evergreen School District.
There were no injuries. Police did not say who was allegedly being targeted.
HEARING ON HEALTHCARE WEBSITE
The House opens the first in a series of hearings about the launch of the healthcare exchange website. The witness list at today's hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee includes private contractors who took part in building the website.
BULLYING FOR HIGH SCORING
Some people were shocked and outraged, after a parent of a North Texas High school football player filed a bullying complaint against a rival team's coaching staff because the rival team BEAT THEM, 91 to nothing.
The parent says that's bullying. The coach disagreed.

A day to appreciate the grouches in our lives, and realize that they're BORN that way, just like you were born to be the ray of sunshine that you are.
