ROBIN WILLIAMS BEING REMEMBERED
It feels like we've lost a friend. Fans around the world are reacting to the news that Robin Williams has passed away. Lots of us are going over, in our minds, or posting online, our favorite Robin williams roles. Even sadder and more difficult is the fact that Williams' death was apparently a suicide. The 63-year-old actor was found unresponsive at his home in California yesterday.

PRESIDENT OBAMA ISSUES STATEMENT ON ROBIN WILLIAMS
The President said, "Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien - but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit."

SUICIDE PREVENTION NETWORK
Scott Ridgeway with the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network, says there's one group of people in whom suicides are INCREASING: it's middle-aged men. He says there's such a stigma associated with mental illness, that many people hide it, and try to deal with it themselves. Sometimes, they're not successful.

PERSEID METEOR SHOWER PEAKS TONIGHT
IF the skies clear a little tonight, you should be able to see some really cool shooting stars. This is the time of year we can see the Perseid Meteor Shower, and tonight, is peak viewing, where you can, if it's not cloudy, see hundreds of meteors an hourk, after midnight.

RAIN YESTERDAY
News 2 called it, yesterday! We ALWAYS gripe when the weather doesn't turn out as predicted, but, noooo 'Blame Justin,' today! Meteorologist Justin Bruce said, "Scattered downpours," and every couple of hours, BOOSH! It was like bottom fell out.
We saw some localized flooding, but no serious problems.

POPE GOES TO SOUTH KOREA
Pope Francis is headed to South Korea, where he'll celebrate World Youth Day... and will hold a Mass for Peace and reconciliation. 

EXPERIMENTAL EBOLA DRUG BEING SENT TO AFRICA
Liberia is about to get an experimental Ebola drug that, so far, had only been given to Westerners. The drug is very scarce, but it's being kind of rushed through because the need is so great.  The drug will be given to two sick doctors, the first Africans to get it. 

ILLEGAL DOWNLOADS OF EXPENDABLES THREE
And this is a sign of the times, but it's still illegal: 2.2 million people have downloaded a leaked copy of "The Expendables 3" before the action movie even hits theaters. 

GIANT PENGUIN FOSSILS FOUND
Researchers have discovered fossils of a 250-pound penguin on Antarctica's Seymour Island. Penguins that would have been 6-foot 7-inches in size. It's "Shark Week" on the Discovery Channel.

n what has to be one of the most bizarre, but creative, mash-ups ever...somebody has taken audio from the new Fifty Shades of Grey movie trailer, and mashed it up with images from Disney's Frozen! The dubbing is virtually PERFECT, and it's already had hundreds of thousands of views.
