Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is calling for a reduction in troop levels to the smallest Army since before World War Two. Hagel said the Defense Department's proposed 2015 budget will include about a 20-percent reduction in Army troops in coming years.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney, however, doesn't like the idea. He says we need to keep the American Military strong to help keep worldwide peace.
TDOT LOOKING FOR WAYS TO MAKE VIETNAM VETS BYPASS SAFER
The Tennessee Department of Transportation is studying the safety of Vietnam Veterans Boulevard to find ways to make it safer. There've been 145 crashes there since last January, MOST of them in Hendersonville, between the Center Point Road and Saundersville Road exits.
One longtime crash investigator says people speeding is usually a factor, and now, distracted driving as well. The study should be done by next month, though TDOT has already added several safety features to the bypass, including guard rails, cable barriers to the medians, speed limit signs on curves and graded road to help tires grip better.

Today is world Spay Day. The Humane Society hopes pet lovers everywhere will go ahead and make the move to spay and neuter their pets, instead of adding to the pet population... while millions of pets are killed each year.

ATTORNEY SAYS VANDERBILT EVIDENCE IS BEING LEAKED
The attorney for Vanderbilt rape suspect Cory Batey may ask for the trial to be moved out of Davidson County because he claims someone close to the case is leaking confidential evidence, and could sway public opinion. Batey is one of four former Vanderbilt football players accused of raping an unconscious woman in a campus dorm room last summer.
HEALTH: ACETAMINOPHEN DURING PREGNANCY MAY BE LINKED TO ADHD
This is going to come as a shock to moms to be: a new study finds pregnant moms who use acetaminophen [[ uh-see-tuh-MIN-uh-fin ]] (the ingredient in Tylenol and other over-the-counter meds) during pregnancy could be increasing the risk of their child developing attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD. The findings don't PROVE a cause-and-effect relationship between the drug and the disorder, but they do suggest that more research is needed.
CRASH IN RUTHERFORD COUNTY
Three people have been injured in a three-vehicle crash in Rutherford County. It happened last night around 7 near Christiana Middle School. Two of the injuries, an adult and a two-year-old, were injured when they were ejected from the cars in the impact.
ANOTHER BREAKFAST CHOICE WITH TACO BELL WAFFLE TACO
On the same day news broke that McDonald's is thinking about extending their breakfast hours, Taco Bell has announced it is adding breakfast to its menu starting next month, including a new Waffle Taco -- a warm waffle wrapped around sausage or bacon. They've already been testing it out at some Taco Bell locations here in Tennessee, and a couple of other states. They're hoping to chomp down on McDonald's 20 percent share of our fast food breakfast business.
BRIDGESTONE ARENA RECYCLING CIGARETTE BUTTS
Bridgestone Arena is recycling used cigarette butts! They're collecting the old nasty butts people leave behind and sending them off to a plant in New Jersey where they're recycled into plastic PALLETS for industrial use. (As light as they are, 30 POUNDS of cigarette butts have been collected from the Arena since December.)
TRAFFIC CONGESTION DOWNTOWN NEAR CAPITOL BUILDING
Traffic will be a mess downtown near the Capitol building for a month or so. Metro Public Works is closing one lane of traffic on Union Street at the Sheraton to put a dumpster there while they clean up from a water main break.
WOMEN WITH BRCA1 MUTATION COULD REDUCE RISK THROUGH SURGERY
There's new information that could DRASTICALLY change how women deal with breast cancer. A new study suggests women with the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genetic mutations could cut their risk of breast and ovarian cancer by 80% if they get their ovaries removed by age 35.

They're in the Blind Auditions right now... with coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher... putting together their teams. This season could be especially interesting. Blake Shelton has already told Shakira she's a horrible coach, and Usher has already found a reason to show off his abs in trying to win over a contestant, and the audience. You could almost feel the earth tilt, as millions of women shifted to Usher's team.

Last night, he sent home Renee after meeting her family and young son. He's now left with Nikki, Andi and Clare going into tonight's "fantasy suites" episode.
