Mitt Romney is still the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination after yesterday's Super Tuesday contests... though Tennessee voters chose former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum as their nominee. In other elections, Maury County voters decided against a Metro-style government for Columbia and Maury County, and Sumner County voters said NO to raising the wheel tax to $75.
SMOKERS MAY BE MOVED FARTHER AWAY FROM HOSPITAL ENTRANCES

Some Nashville hospitals may be moving smoking areas farther away from hospital entrances. Right now smokers can walk out 50 feet, light up, and people coming into the building may still walk through a haze of smoke. Metro Council is looking at an ordinance proposing local hospitals move designated smoking areas to 200 feet from any entrance.

ESPN is reporting that the Inianapolis Colts are letting Peyton Manning go, after 14-years. They're expected to make the official announcement today. (The four-time league MVP missed all of last season after having a third neck surgery... but his doctors have cleared him to play again.) Speculation is that he may go to Washington or Miami.
APPLE ROLLS OUT NEXT IPAD TODAY
And early-adopters will be buzzing online about Apple's new iPad today. The newest gadget could be about ten times faster than 3G technology. (The aim of the faster and better-equipped version is to beat the competition from rivals such as Samsung and Amazon.)
FLORIDA SCHOOL MURDER SUICIDE
Classes are out for the rest of the week at Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, Florida after a murder-suicide on campus. A teacher who was fired, came back to the school with an AK-47 assault rifle hidden in a guitar case, killed the Head of School in her office, then shot himself.
COUNTRY MUSIC HOF NAMES NEW INDUCTEES
The Country Music Hall of Fame has inducted three new artists... Grand Ole Opry star Connie Smith, keyboard and piano player Hargus "Pig" Robbins and Garth Brooks. Even though you may not have heard a lot from him lately, Garth is still performing. He's been selling out crowds in his steady gig at the Wynn Las Vegas, since 2009, at 225 dollars per ticket!
METRO COUNCILMEMBER BANKS APOLOGIZES FOR PROSTITUTION INCIDENT
Metro Nashville Councilman Brady Banks has issued an apology for trying to solicit a prostitute last month. He says he's sorry for the pain it's caused to those close to him, especially his wife, and that he plans to stay on the council. His charge will be dropped if he completes a class for first time offenders.
HEALTH: BPA EXPOSURE AND HEART DISEASE
British researchers say if you're exposed to Bisphenol A you may have a slightly higher risk of heart disease. BPA is a chemical used in food packaging and plastic water bottles. The FDA website also says there's "reason for some concern" about the effects of BPA on the brain and behavior.

If your teenager is going somewhere on spring break, Public Safety Officials are warning them NOT to go to Mexico right now, because of all the drug gang violence -- even in some resort areas.
POLICE DEPARTMENT FAKED KIDNAPPINGS
The Phoeonix, Arizona police department is accused of saying they had 109 more kidnappings than they really did... to get federal funding. The Department of Justice is investigating.

AIR GUARD CUTS WOULD AFFECT TENNESSEE
A plan released yesterday by the U.S. Air Force says cuts by the Air National Guard would cost 179 jobs in Tennessee in the fall of next year, 30 of those in Nashville. They're part of a 487-billion dollar reduction approved by Congress last year to raise the debt limit. The National Governor's Association opposes the decision saying it will affect the Air Guard's ability to respond to emergencies.
YOUNG PEOPLE ENTERING JOB MARKET AT LOWER WAGES
A new analysis of pay trends shows young people entering the job market are being hit with lower wages. The Economic Policy Institute found the average inflation-adjusted hourly wage for male college graduates aged 23 to 29 plunged eleven-percent over the past decade. The average wage for female college graduates of the same age dropped seven-point-six-percent.
LSU TIGERS
The LSU Tigers are giving a roster tryout to a female kicker. Mo Isom confirmed she'll get the tryout on her Facebook page. She wrote she is overwhelmed and humbled by the support that has come her way. Isom was a goalie on the school's soccer team and practiced kickoffs and field goals with the Tigers last fall.
MORTICIAN SAYS HE OBJECTED TO DUMPING 9-11 VICTIMS' REMAINS IN LANDFILL
A mortician at Dover Air Force Base says he objected to dumping the remains of 9-11 victims in a landfill, but was overruled by higher-ups in the military. William Zwicharowski [[ zigga-ROW-ski ]] served as the mortuary's civilian director in 2002. The "Washington Post" reports Zwicharowski said he argued the unidentified remains should be buried at sea.
