WE HAD A RECORD COLD MORNING IN SOME AREAS

We have another nice, cool morning today. In fact, we hit the record low for this date in Nashville, and in some areas, may have broken record low temps for this date. We got down to 58 overnight in Nashville.

SUSPECT IN 'BORO HAMMER ATTACK MOST WANTED
A man accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend with a hammer is being added to the Rutherford County Sheriff's "Most Wanted" list. Steven Akins of Murfreesboro has a history of violence against his victim.

AMERICAN IDOL TRYOUTS TODAY IN NASHVILLE
American Idol producers are back in Nashville today holding open auditions for the next season of American Idol. Mix 92.9's Clint Redwine and former top 3 Idol contestant Melinda Doolittle spent the morning in line, talking to contestant hopefuls.

PEARCY FRIEND TESTIFIES SHE SAW VIDEO OF HOLLY BOBO AFTER KIDNAP
There's some new information out in the Holly Bobo Case, and it's potentially a big deal. A longtime friend of one of the men charged in Holly's disappearance has told investigators that she saw a video on Jeff Pearcy's phone of the 20-year-old Bobo tied up and being sexually assaulted by Zachary Adams. Sandra King testified yesterday that Mark Pearcy recorded the attack and Jeff showed it to her. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has confiscated the phone. 

VA DEPT NEW LEADER
The Veterans Affairs Department has a new leader.  The Senate has confirmed former Proctor and Gamble CEO and Army veteran Robert McDonald as the new VA Secretary, to try and fix the problems with long wait times and scheduling problems that've led to deaths. 

HEALTH: HEART ATTACKS WORSE FOR WOMEN THAN MEN
We knew that more women are having heart attacks these days... because more of us are overweiight and obese..But we're finding that, compared to men, women are more likely to have problems after a heart attack, including longer hospital stays, higher in-hospital death rates, high blood pressure, diabetes and heart failure after their first heart attack.

TURTLES MOVIE MAKERS APOLOGIZE FOR DATE BOO BOO
Paramount is apologizing after a poster came out promoting the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie .... and the poster had the four Turtles leaping from an exploding skyscraper .... and advertising the September 11th release date. That's the same date we actually DID have burning, exploding skyscrapers during a terrorist attack.
Paramount says it's deeply sorry for combing the image with the date. 

REHAB CENTER POSSIBLE FOR FORMER JOHNNY CASH HOME
The home where Johnny and June Carter Cash lived for more than 30-years could become a rehab center.  The property on Old Hickory Lake has been bought by Lakehouse Holdings in March for two-million-dollars, and the new owner plans to build a residential medical facility.

BALTIMORE NINE DAYS AWAY FROM STRICT CURFEW
Baltimore is about to kick in one of th strictest curfews in the country. It will be ILLEGAL for kids 14 and younger to be outside after 9pm. Illegal for teenagers ages 14 to 16 to be out after 10 on school nights, 11 on weekends.

MAN ACCUSED OF SETTING FIRE TO NEIGHBOR'S HOME
A guy in Florida was so upset at how bad his neighbor's house looked, that he set it on FIRE. He's charged with arson. It could've been worse: the homeowner was INSIDE the house when his neighbor got the bright idea of arson. He managed to get out as his mobile home burned.

ONE IN THREE OF US UNDER DEBT COLLECTIONS

And the more junk food folks eat, the more they want to get their fix.
