It was two years ago today that the Nashville flood was in progress. Middle Tennessee got over 13 inches of rain in a two day period, pushing the Cumberland River nearly 12 feet above flood stage... forcing people out of their homes, closing businesses, and causing 11 deaths. Police in Rutherford County have been searching for several days to find a mentally challenged man who's been mising for several days. They ask you to check out the photo of 33 year old Parchia Tolbert of Greenland Drive in Murfreesboro, and all police if you see him. (615-893-1311.)

PHONE SCAM TARGETING ELDERLY RESIDENT

There's another phone scam you need to know about, and tell your elderly friends about. Someone with a strong accent of some sort calling mostly older people in Brentwood, telling them they've won cash and a car, but they need to buy a 500 dollar pay-as-you-go Visa card, so they can deposit the winnings in the account. Instead, the crooks max out the card. If you've lost money in the scam, please let the police know. (Brentwood Police Department at 371-0160.)

PREDATORS PLAY GAME THREE TONIGHT IN NASHVILLE
The Nashville Predators sure need to win tonight. They host Phoenix tonight here in Nashville... in game three of the Western Conference semifinals. The Predators trail the Coyotes two-zero in a best of seven series.

LEGISLATURE ADJOURNS, APPROVES WELFARE APPLICANTS DRUG TESTING
The Tennessee legislature ended its 2012 session yesterday approving several bills, including the one requiring new welfare applicants to be tested for drugs if the suspicion of drug use comes up in the new Welfare screening process.

CDC SAYS ASTHMA AT ALL-TIME HIGH
A new study shows more Americans are suffering from asthma than ever before. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says nearly 26-million Americans had asthma in 2010.... two million more cases than a decade ago. A quarter of them are under 18, Asthma is more common in women, more common in lower-income Americans, and can be triggered by exercise, allergies, pollution, infections and tobacco smoke.

Here's a cautionary reminder for you: A Spring Hill man has admitted he's been driving around Columbia, Franklin and Spring Hill, stealing lawn equipment to support his heroin habit. It was easy: he stole the mowers, blowers, and other items from the backs of trucks, or garages that had been left open, and he'd pawn them the next day. (Music City Pawn tipped off police. )Thomas Inman was arrested, and THOUSANDS of dollars worth of items were recovered.

METRO MAYOR WANTS TAX HIKE

Metro Nashville Mayor Karl Dean wants a property tax hike to fund his Metro budget. The tax hike would mean you'd pay about 16 dollars more a month for a 145-thousand dollar home. (Dean says it's either bring in more money or cut services.)

METRO MAYOR WANTS TO STRIP COLLECTIONS POWER FROM ARRIOLA
The Mayor also is asking the Metro Council to strip Davidson County Clerk John Arriola of his authority to collect city taxes, and let the City Finance Department handle it. They say his office has become increasingly dysfunctional and has created problems in paying the city's bills.

Rutherford County Property Assessor Bill Boner is facing sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity allegations from five women. They say he CONTINUALLY harrassed them, trying to look down their shirts; making sexual comments, talking about his sex life and NUMEROUS other charges. And then he fired them when they complained. Boner denies it, saying you can ask any of his current female employees, who are, quote, 'younger and better looking' than the women he fired. That's what he said.

TEEN MARIJUANA USE RISING
More and more teenagers are turning to marijuana. A new study shows heavy marijuana use among U.S. teens is up 80-percent since 2008, with one in ten teens admitting they smoked pot in the past month.

GINGRICH TO EXIT PRESIDENTIAL RACE TODAY
Newt Gingrich will formally suspend his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination today. Texas Congressman Ron Paul remains in the race, though former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is expected to win the Republican presidential nomination in the next few weeks.

TENNESSEE RANKS HIGH IN LOW-WAGE WORKERS
Tennessee ranks high in the top ten list of states with the highest percentage of low-wage workers in a survey compiled by "The Atllantic." U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics show it ranking second for workers making less than 23-thousand a year, or 32-point-eight-percent of workers, topped by Mississippi. The survey says an additional 42-point-eight-percent make less than 46-thousand a year.

MTSU TO AWARD ITS 100,000TH DEGREE

Middle Tennessee State University will award its 100,000th degree during graduation ceremonies Saturday.The school opened in 1911 as the Middle Tennessee State Normal School for the purpose of educating teachers. More than 2,500 students are scheduled to receive degrees at MTSU this weekend.
