Sports Bra Detects Cancer
You've probably got a smart phone. How about a smart bra? The new First Warning System BSE Bra is in research and has been found to bee 90% accurate in detecting tumors in a study of over 600 women. If approved by the FDA, the bra could be on the market by 2014. See the new early detection bra here.
Who Is Hiring?
Amazon is hiring 50,000 temporary workers across the U.S. this holiday season, expecting "thousands" of those hires to stay on full time. Macy's Inc. plans to hire 80,000 seasonal workers, while Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to add 50,000. Toys R Us Inc. plans to hire 45,000 seasonal workers this year.

Register For The Angel Tree Now

The Salvation Army's annual Angel Tree program. Applications are being taken at the Angel Tree warehouse. (3710 Vulcan Dr.near the Nashville Zoo) Families in need can register through Oct 24. As of Oct. 12, more than 1,000 families have already registered for the program.

In Nashville, there is an organization that offers help, treatment, housing, and other programs for patients, families, and volunteers. Social Security Raise Less Than Inflation Rate
If you are the beneficiary to social security benefits, you will be getting a cost of living adjustment for next year that's less than half the previous increase. The 1.7% increase does not keep up with inflation, which is listed at 2% due to higher prices on food, gasoline, and medical care.
Car Smoking is Toxic Pollution
Just in case you are passing time in traffic by smoking, you might want to know about a recent Scotland study that says car smoking even 1 cigarette with the windows open causes pollution levels that exceed safe limits, toxic especially if there are children in the car. The British Medical Association wants all smoking in cars banned.
Alledged Thief Leaves Resume At Crime Scene
Edward A. Nation was arrested after he intentionally left a copy of his resume at his ex-girlfriend's home while he was burglarizing it. Officials say he left a box behind that contained his resume, an offer to create a resume for his ex-girlfriend and a plea for her to leave her current boyfriend and reunite with him. He also allegedly stole a safe with medication, two watches, three cameras, a printer and one-thousand dollars of cash, all of which belonged to the woman's current boyfriend. ummmm...bringing her flowers and a Barry White CD would have worked so much better.
