PENNSYLVANIA WINDOW WASHERS DRESS UP AS COMIC BOOK HEROES FOR CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
How about a hand for the windown washers who dressed up like superheroes when they cleaned the windows at a Children's Hospital in Pennsylvania this week? The kids were thrilled, and followed the guys from room to room, watching as Spiderman, Batman, Superman and Captain America cleaned the windows. Now that's a nice thing to do.
TROPICAL STORM WATCH FOR FLORIDA
If you know someone in Florida, tell them to stock up and hunker down! A tropical storm watch is out for southeast Florida and the upper Keys as Tropical Storm Sandy heads their way. (Tropical storm conditions are possible along the southeast Florida coast, the upper Keys and Florida Bay by Friday morning.
HOW MUCH SNOW THIS WINTER IN TN?
And in case you didn't hear it when he just blurted it out yesterday, and stunned everybody, our News 2 Meteorologist Justin Bruce has made a winter weather prediction for the Nashville area. He says, after a mild winter last year, this winter we should expect a lot of cold temperatures, and more than 10 inches of snow!
MIXED-USE TOWN HALL DEVELOPMENT PLANNED FOR BRENTWOOD
There are big changes in the works for downtown Brentwood. Developers are working on a new mixed-use town center called "The Streets of Brentwood" at the intersection of Maryland Way and Franklin Road… south of Old Hickory Boulevard. The more than 970,000 square foot project would have residential, office and retail/restaurant space, a theater and a hotel. County commissioners have to approve the zoning change first. YMCA LOOKS TO SAVE THOUSANDS IN MISSING TOWELS
The Maryland Farms YMCA loses 30 thousand dollars a year in stolen towels..that's something like 5,000 towels a month. Y managers say most are taken accidentally… so they're going to help people remember, by adding a tag to the towels, that'll trigger an alarm if they're taken outside. (If it works well, other local Ys are expected to start using the tags to stop their 'accidental' towel thefts.)
WATCH OUT DRUNKIES! COPS ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!
A lot of people will be going to Halloween parties this weekend, so Metro police will be out in full force, with sobriety checkpoints to get impaired and drunk drivers off the roads. They're asking you to have a designated sober ride or take a cab or public transportation if you plan to drink. MTA will have 20 bus routes running free from 8 Saturday night until 1am Sunday. EATING JUNK FOOD WHILE PREGNANT BAD IN MANY WAYS FOR BABY
If you're eating junk food while you're pregnant, you might as well smoke, for the harm you're doing to your unborn child. A new study from Spain says junk food and the chemicals in it, limits your baby's size and brain growth. And in a related story, U-S scientists found that women who want to have kids, are cutting their fertility span by years because the chemicals in toiletries and household products damages eggs their ovaries haven't released yet.
CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL ACCUSED OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT WITH STUDENT
The principal of Centennial High School has been accused of sexual misconduct... and has resigned. Dr. Frank Brown allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a student while working as a teacher at McGavock High School and continued the relationship while he was principal at Centennial. The Williamson County Sheriff's office is investigating.
METRO SCHOOL BOARD MAY FILE LAWSUIT
The Metro school board is expected to decide at its next meeting whether to file a lawsuit over the millions of dollars in funding withheld from the district. The schools director says he doesn't foresee any staff cuts because of it.
HEALTH: GREEN TEA MAY LOWER CANCER RISK
There may be a link between drinking green tea and lower cancer risk. Researchers found that older women who drank green tea at least three times a week, were 14-percent less likely to develop cancer of the throat or digestive system than women who didn't.

A new poll found nearly 4 in 10 people think their profession is making the world a WORSE place, and hurting people, yet they continue to do it for the money. The professions include fast food workers, telemarketers, bartenders and loan collectors, among others.
METH LAB MATERIALS DISCOVERED ON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND
When a drug addict wants to get high he doesn't care who he puts in danger. The proof is the meth lab equipment found on an elementary school playground in Murfreesboro yesterday. Junkies have found ways to make Meth in two liter bottles...so they can take their 'shake and bake' drugs with them anywhere. It's highly explosive however, which is one of the reasons it's so horrible to find one on a school playground. A third of the burn victims in a Nashville burn center are from Meth lab explosions. Authorities say they had to decontaminate the Mitchell-Neilson Primary School playground.
OBAMA ADMINISTRATION MAKING HOME CARE EASIER
The Obama administration is relaxing Medicare's requirements for skilled nursing and home health care. The action will allow beneficiaries to qualify for benefits even when their conditions are not expected to improve.
